A Pilates mat class involves doing a whole body workout on a mat, using small apparatus.

Small apparatus includes stability balls, dumbbells, resistance bands, fitballs, foam rollers, magic circles, ankle weights and more.

Pilates mat classes are designed for the general population and are suitable if you do not have any injuries or special health conditions.

No Pilates machines are used in a Pilates mat class.

There are a maximum of 8 participants in each class.

All classes are graded therefore you should be attending a class suited to the level you are at in Pilates.

These levels are as follows:

– Introductory No experience necessary
– Basic minimum of 6 sessions in your body or the equivalent in private or semi-private sessions
– Progressive minimum of 20 sessions in your body with regular attendance
– Intermediate minimum of 2 years experience with regular attendance

If you do not see a suitable class on the timetable and you really wish to start Pilates mat classes there is a ‘New Starter class pack’ available which consists of 1 private session and 5 semi-privates at a discounted rate to help prepare you to enter into a ‘Basic’ level class.
