At Coastal Pilates & Fitness, we offer a variety of Personal Training options designed to suit all ages and abilities.
If you’re new to the studio, we suggest starting with One-on-One Personal Training or our semi-private sessions, tailored to your individual goals.
From there, you can confidently progress into our small Group Classes—including our signature Group PT sessions, Beyond 50, and TRX Suspension Training.
Our classes are strength-focused, helping you build muscle, support healthy bones, and regulate hormones, while giving you a balanced, full-body workout in just one hour.
To round things out, we also weave in cardio, balance, flexibility, and coordination training—helping you work towards meeting the recommended weekly exercise guidelines:
> 2–3 Strength Training sessions
> 2–3 Pilates/Stretch sessions
> 150 minutes of Cardiovascular exercise
> 2–3 Neuromotor sessions (think activities like skipping, tennis, soccer, dancing, or martial arts)
We offer New Starter Packs tailored to your needs - choose from:
> Private sessions
> Semi-private sessions
> Small group classes
Every new starter pack begins with a comprehensive initial consultation, which includes:
> Reviewing your health history, pain points, or restrictions
> Understanding your personal goals
> A detailed postural assessment and movement screen
> Checking on your prior knowledge
> Foundational instruction covering breath, alignment, technique and core activation
This ensures we tailor your training experience from day one and give your body the right foundation for success.
Please note:
We do not offer casual classes or drop-ins. We are a boutique studio and take pride in offering a thorough, supportive onboarding process.

Personal Training
Personal Training is one-on-one training with an instructor to work towards your own health and fitness goals, taking into consideration any injuries or medical conditions you may be dealing with.
Your goals may be to lose body fat, to get out of pain, to deal with a health problem or to train for a specific sports event. We can also cover off nutritional advice too if that is part of your goal using Matt O’Neill’s Metabolic Jumpstart framework.
A personal training session commences after an initial consultation. An initial consultation includes reviewing your goals, a postural assessment, developing your tailored program, fitness testing and then commencing on this program. All personal training sessions run for one hour.
The major benefit of personal training is that your trainer will keep you on track and motivated. You will also be educated along the way with safe yet effective ways to exercise.
There are no pre-requisites prior to attending your first session as it’s completely tailored to you.

Semi-private Personal Training
A Personal Training semi-private session entails one instructor supervising up to 3-4 clients who are working on their own tailored program. These programs could be purely Pilates based, Personal Training or a combination of both.
Your semi-private sessions begin once you’ve attended your initial consultation and then have a follow-up private session to make sure you understand your beginner program before entering into a small group.
These sessions will teach you personal training basics, for example, how to lunge, squat, chest press, do pushups correctly and also how to use all of the equipment - boxing, skipping, cardio machines, stepping, kettlebells, depending on what your goals are.
Semi-private sessions are great for those who need a more tailored session and also if you want to transition into the Group Personal Training classes but without the expense of private lessons and also for those of you who have certain health conditions or restrictions.

Group Personal Training Session
There are many tools incorporated into this class, not only to challenge you but to give you variety and keep you motivated. Some of these tools include boxing equipment, skipping ropes, cardiovascular machines, steps, agility ladders, hurdles, fit balls, medicine balls, dumbbells, barbells, resistance bands, kettle bells, battle ropes and slides.

Beyond 50 Class
This class has been designed for those who are 50 years plus and to give you an all-round workout of cardiovascular exercise, strength training, working on balance and flexibility.
Beyond 50 classes aim to slow down the aging process on your muscles and bones, regulate your hormones, plus manage or eliminate many of the lifestyle diseases prevalent in our society.
The cardiovascular component of this class includes low impact aerobics, stepping, skipping, hula hoops, boxing, Tabata or circuit training.
The strength training component of the class is often based on 3-4 sets of 8-12 repetitions, again adjusted for both the beginner to the most advanced person in the group.
You must have some prior knowledge of personal training or gym-based classes but you must also be free from pain or injury or certain medical conditions. If not we offer private and semi-private Pilates sessions instead.

TRX Class
Using body weight and gravity for a total body workout.
"TRX" stands for "Total Body Resistance Exercise.". Using a single piece of equipment made from two nylon straps suspended from the ceiling, TRX leverages gravity and bodyweight to perform hundreds of strength-training exercises, from push-ups to planks.
Used by celebrities the world over, the benefits of TRX are numerous, including building a strong and stable core, improving coordination and balance, build toned and lean muscle, and hone your agility and flexibility. And to top it off, it’s fun and challenging!
You must have some prior knowledge of personal training or gym based classes but you must also be free from pain or injury or certain medical conditions. If not we offer private and semi-private Pilates sessions instead.
